Golden anniversary

Worthing Mencap began in 1958, so this year we celebrate 50 years of fundraising and active support for local people with learning disabilities and their families. We're planning some special golden anniversary events and would love to hear from anyone who has been involved with Worthing Mencap at any time over the past 50 years. New minibus

Worthing Mencap is back on the road with a minibus. We have managed to buy an excellent two-year-old 15-seat minibus, for use for our own activities and to support affiliated groups that need transport.

AGM

Thursday 27th March, at Buddys. Come and join us for cheese and wine from 7.30pm. AGM at 8pm.

Race night

Saturday 29th March, at Ferring Rifers. A popular evening and a good fund-raiser.

Flag day - volunteers needed

Saturday 17th May, Montague Street, Worthing. Collectors are required from 8.30 am. Please help if you can - call us at Buddys, 01903 202030.

Sport & fun day

Tuesday 10th June, Durrington Leisure Centre. Call Buddys for more information.

Hog Roast

Sunday 20th July, Ferring Country Centre.

Christmas Fayre

Saturday 29th November, Assembly Rooms, Worthing.

Beach hut in Littlehampton

Near Littlehampton Swimming pool. Available for use by people with learning difficulties and their families or carers in return for a donation to Worthing Mencap.

Mencap Visitors Service

It was popular some years ago to leave a legacy to The Mencap Visitors  Service in return for regular visits to your relative with learning difficulties, to check on their welfare, etc.

This service has proved expensive and difficult to administer and Mencap have revised the amount and terms of the legacy. If you have included Mencap Visitors Service in your will, please take time to check with Mencap that this service is still appropriate for you.
